Hummus for Happy Hormones & Boosting Immunity

Homemade Hummus with Kale & Garlic

10 minutes to Prepare, 30 minutes to cook the garlic

  • 7-8 cloves garlic

  • 1 can (15 oz) organic chickpeas, drain and rinse

  • ⅛ cup of organic sesame seeds

  • 1 cup finely chopped organic kale leaves

  • 2 tbsp water (more water can be added while blended to create smoother texture)

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 2 tbsp of Extra virgin olive oil (1 tbsp to be added to blend; 1 tbsp to drizzle on top for service.)

  • 2 olives of your choosing (Optional for garnish, I prefer Kalamata!)

  • 2 drops Young Living Essential Oil Lemon

  • 1 drop each Young Living Essential Oils: Black Pepper & Sage

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Wrap the cloves of garlic in foil and bake for about 30 minutes.

  3. Once the cloves are soft they can be removed from the oven.

  4. Allow the cloves to cool, and then remove peel.

  5. Add the cloves to a blender or food processor with all remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth.

  6. Transfer to serving dish. Drizzle remaining olive oil, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt, crack some black pepper and garnish with a couple halved olives on top. Suggested accompaniments: Sliced veggies, rice crackers, GFCF flat bread (recipe posted soon!)
