No Surprise Here: BPA linked to ADHD

Many of us have already made a conscience effort to elect BPA-free plastics when shopping for water bottles and storage containers, but we are still seeing evidence that our population continues to be exposed to this as well as equivalent toxins.

“We found evidence that higher urinary BPA concentrations were associated with ADHD in U.S. children; these associations were stronger in boys than in girls.”

Did you know you the endocrine disruptor chemical, BPA, remains to be a problem in these common items:

  • Receipts

  • Elect to receive a text or email copy whenever possible in lieu of touching this toxic paper.

  • If your retailer does not support electronic alternatives, use a scanning app to track for your records. Immediately after handling, wash your hands with Thieves Foaming Hand Soap or better yet, keep Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier in your bag or car at all times.

  • Canned Goods

  • Eat fresh or frozen organic foods whenever possible. When you absolutely cannot, use Young Living Thieves Fruit & Veggie Spray to help remove pesticides and other toxins.

  • Elect foods packaged in jars or glass or your food pantry options.

  • Some companies are including a BPA free label on their cans, show your support and purchase these. Refer to EWG’s Best Players or Better Players for suggestions.

  • Beer & Wine

  • So you are willing to buy bottled beer and wine, BUT many companies use vats that have liners that contain BPA in them, then during the fermenting process it will contaminate the alcohol.

  • Instead of the booze, you could try a shot of NingXia Red shot to power your day!

  • Dental Sealants

  • Sealants have been recommended by the dental industry as an option to protect our teeth from cavities, even for our children. However, this sealant once exposed to saliva breaks down into BPA (and how could you possibly avoid that when it is administered in your mouth). The American Dental Association acknowledges this possibility, but states the exposure is so minimal, there are no health concerns.

  • Why not instead put the focus back on PREVENTION. Improve on general oral hygiene (brush, floss, rinse with Thieves), reduce sugar intake, eliminate juice and pop as beverage options. If you absolutely believe that a sealant is best for your family, elect a dentist that uses BPA-free alternatives.

  • ANY/ALL Plastics - EVEN those labeled BPA Free!

  • Other toxins can leach into your food and beverages, as a matter of fact in a study conducted in 2011, we discovered that about 95% of the plastics tested positive for estrogenic activity, even those labeled as BPA-free.

  • Stop using plastics and opt for stainless steel or glass. While you are at it, add a couple drops of your favorite Young Living Citrus Essential Oil which will be high in d-limonene to aid your body’s detoxification process naturally. Or, Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil to support healthy digestion.
