"It's not as important to succeed as it is to matter... And you'll likely accomplish the former if you shoot for the latter." ~Chris Brady

This is why my (currently part time) Young Living business is so important to me. I want everyone to experience the wellness, purpose and abundance of healthy living with the best, most authentic products in the world. In my heart, I know THIS MATTERS.

As one that recognizes Epigenitics along with how our environment, nourishment and other outside stimulus impact our health, I was elated to be introduced to a company that is as passionate about living toxic free as I am. I enrolled with Young Living in 2015 to have access to personal care products, household cleaning, supplements, and of course, essential oils that are second to none. Our family promptly experienced health benefits which compelled me to want to share with all my family and friends. Even though I had little time to take on another commitment in my life, I resolved to become a business owner with Young Living in order to help others be empowered and take charge of their own health. I thoroughly enjoy being involved in an business that offers education along with holistic alternatives and resources to improve all aspects of wellness. I am pursing this despite the fact that the business model happens to be direct sales. Yes, MLM's take a lot of heat, and quite frankly, I believe many deserve the negative press. It makes me sick to my stomach to hear stories of people going bankrupt after having to stockpile their merchandise and result to tactics of trickery and deception to get friends to purchase goods. These companies often have compensation plans that are designed to only reward those that sponsor other sellers, so the pressure is on to recruit and stack. These unfavorable scenarios are inevitably scattered across the mainstream media as a life lesson for all and as a result appear to be the norm for the industry. Rest assured, I did not drink the MLM Kool-aid, nor was I even asked to. In absolutely every business model, there is going to be a few bad eggs that can show poorly for a brand, a company or even an entire industry. I dare you not to scowl when you think of scandals like Enron, Worldcom, Bernie Madoff, Tyco Ltd., Lance Armstrong/SRAM Corp, or the latest, "The Panama Papers". Yes, there are a handful of MLM's that have caused an instant concern by many that to be in direct sales will undoubtedly equate to one participating in a pyramid scheme. I have no doubt that some network marketers have a downline that may look like a triangle when graphed. Having said that, my full time gig right now happens to be working for an international company and I've got to tell you, the org chart of management, departments and employees, looks a lot more like a pyramid than what I've got going on with my part time YL effort! (My organization just looks like a few stacked legos.)

Mind you, I am still fairly new with all this, I recognize that to make REALLY good money in this industry, strategic placement will need to come into play at some point. Right now, I'm just thrilled to bring in a little extra household income which basically allows me to get our personal care and household cleaning needs FREE. The business side of Young Living is completely optional. As a matter fact, only about 8% of us are choosing to work it, leaving almost 92% of those enrolled as a retail or wholesale members just using the products. To work the business, there is a purchase qualification that must be met in order to qualify for commissions. I was already meeting this requirement by opting to not pay Target and Whole Foods any longer and instead, purchase these monthly household items from... ME! Since clean living is my priority, I would already be purchasing non-toxic soaps & cleansers, natural, unadulterated supplements, and other wellness products. I got tired of trying to stay on top of all the ingredients within other "natural" options. Although companies like 7th Generation, Honest Co., and biokleen are taking a step in the right direction, every time I have compared the ingredients to my Young Living brand counterpart, YL has been superior. So why in the world would I want to spend my money elsewhere? I am very grateful to every person that enrolls as a wholesale member with me, as I really do not have the time or patience to be the "Avon Lady" of essential oils. In lieu of delivering orders door to door, I am able to offer more learning opportunities to my like-minded community. Unlike other wholesalers, there is no annual fee, auto-renewal, monthly minimums, or resale requirements. It brings me great joy knowing my oily family is receiving the best possible products to support overall well-being. It is incredibly meaningful to me to bring to light these options to the people I care about. I am not in this for the quick buck, nor do I plan on working my full time gig forever. I expect and look forward to the day that the paradigm will switch. This side job of mine that has been more of an "internship" into the world of whole-body wellness, will become my main career path and that is because THIS MATTERS.
